What is special about Bansko?

Bansko is known as the largest winter sports resort in Bulgaria and even in the entire Balkans. It is therefore not surprising that it is a popular destination among many winter sports enthusiasts, especially English, Scots and Russians.

There is a lot to do in Bansko. In addition, the city is very neat and tidy and there are fewer dilapidated buildings than in the average Bulgarian village.

Bansko is located 160 kilometers from the capital Sofia and borders the beautiful vast nature of the Pirin National Park. This is a unique nature reserve where a bear population lives.

The city of Bansko consists of an old town and a new town. There are many old houses and historic buildings in the old town. There are also many shops, museums and traditional Bulgarian restaurants here. Finally, here is the beautiful old church of Bansko, the Holy Trinity Church.

The modern part of the city consists mainly of large hotels and the cable car to the ski slopes. Here you will also find pubs, après-ski bars, sports shops and ski rental.
All this makes Bansko a vibrant and pleasant winter sports destination.

The resort is an Eco Friendly resort, which means that they take the environment and nature into account. For example, they no longer use plastic products.

In addition, FIS ski competitions are regularly held, such as slalom, biathlon and snowboarding. This means that the slopes are of excellent quality, because these types of major events are of course not something you just get assigned!

The mountain peaks, the mountain lakes, the annual Bansko Jazz Festival, the annual activities and the FIS Ski World Cup make Bansko an attractive and internationally recognized resort.

It is therefore the ideal location to live, work and go on holiday!
