Razlog is a town north of Bansko with about 19,000 inhabitants. Although Razlog is not as touristy as Bansko, it is definitely worth a visit. There is a nice center with shops, restaurants and accommodation options. It is beautifully designed with water streams, fountains and several parks. In addition, Razlog is popular among Bulgarians who want to buy a house there.
Razlog also has an observation tower on top of a hill, from which you can look out over the entire area, including the city, Bansko and the mountains!
Razlog is also a good location for football fans, because there are football fields throughout the city and there is a real FK Pirin Razlog football stadium on the outskirts of the city with a capacity of 6,500. This is an amateur club, but a club in the third division, the highest amateur division in Bulgaria.

Although house prices are understandably not as high as in Bansko, you can see a clear increase. And it is expected that it will continue to rise in the coming years, which applies throughout Bulgaria.
Rents here are also a lot lower than in Bansko, although that is because there is less demand and there are fewer facilities and tourists in Razlog.
However, it is attractive to buy a house in Razlog. The roads are good, the facilities are excellent, there are supermarkets, shops and restaurants. It is also a city where Bulgarian culture is clearly visible and you still live in a mountainous area!
Razlog is a more than excellent option for both holidays and living, because it is a cozy, quiet and well-kept town with nice and hospitable people where rent and house prices are lower than in Bansko.
